The Eternal Shine: Jewelry's Love Affair Through the Ages
Hey lovely souls, it's Julie here! Today, I wanted to embark on a glimmering journey through time, exploring our timeless adoration for jewelry. From ancient civilizations to our modern Austin studio, this sparkling narrative is truly ageless.
In the Beginning: Humanity’s romance with jewelry began in ancient times. Imagine, centuries ago, a Neolithic individual stringing together shells, stones, and bones, transforming them into the world’s first necklaces. The simple intention? To carry a piece of nature's spirit.

Golden Empires: As we journey forward to the great ancient civilizations—Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Greece—jewelry took on divine and protective meanings. The Egyptians revered the luxurious luster of gold, associating it with the radiant sun god, Ra. Pharaohs were entombed with intricate jewelry, meant to accompany and guard them in the afterlife.

Greco-Roman Affinity: Grecians and Romans were not to be left behind in the style race. Their jewelry pieces were laden with gemstones like emeralds, pearls, and sapphires. They believed these gems held powers, from love to protection. Rings especially became symbols of power and status.

The Spirit of the East: Venturing to ancient India and China, jewelry was deeply rooted in spiritual and cultural practices. In India, gold and bejeweled adornments were a part of everyday attire, signifying prosperity and divine blessings. China, with its jade carvings, believed this gem connected heaven and earth.

Medieval & Renaissance: As centuries progressed, so did the craft. The medieval era introduced brooches and cameos, while the Renaissance was all about flaunting opulence. Jewelry became art, telling tales of love, faith, and nature.

Our Modern Love: Fast forward to today, we've come full circle. We draw inspiration from those ancient roots, fusing them with contemporary style in our Austin studio. The essence? The same passion, craftsmanship, and connection with the universe.

Jewelry has been, and remains, a way for us to express our identity, our beliefs, and our dreams. Every curve, shimmer, and design carries a narrative from the past, while creating a canvas for our current stories. And what's beautiful is how it's still so deeply personal, uniting us with ancient souls who, just like us, wanted to wear a fragment of the world’s magic.
Here’s to the timeless dance of beauty and sentiment, and to the stories we’ll continue to craft, celebrate, and share.✨

With shimmering love, Julie
P.S. this is the first in a series of going back in time. Stay tuned...
